Umpire Services
When appraisers cannot agree on the amount of loss, the appraisal clause of the insurance policy typically provides for the appointment of an umpire. The umpire’s role is to provide a neutral, independent path to resolution when differences remain after the appraisers have completed their work.
The Solvero Group provides professional umpire services in property insurance appraisal matters when properly selected or appointed.
Role of the Umpire
As an umpire, our role is limited and impartial. We do not represent either party.
Our services may include:
- Inspecting/Documenting the damage.
- Reviewing appraisal files submitted by both appraisers
- Evaluating estimates, photographs, reports, and supporting documentation
- Requesting clarification or additional information when appropriate
- Participating in conferences as needed
- Issuing written decisions consistent with the appraisal clause process
Professional Background
Umpire services are provided by professionals with decades of experience in property loss evaluation and the insurance appraisal process. Management maintains professional credentials and continuing education relevant to appraisal and umpire work, including PLAN certification.
What We Do Not Do
To preserve neutrality and process integrity:
- We do not advocate for the insured or the carrier
